Thor 2 is the most successful Thor movie to come out yet! It was also the 3rd lowest grossing Marvel Movie in the new MCU! Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, and Natalie Portman all reprise their roles and are joined by Rene Russo, Christopher Eccleston, and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje (Mr. Eko from Lost)! Also, I just wanted an excuse to make people stumble over Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje :)
Depsite the box office performance, the movie was surprisingly entertaining and we provided a great analysis (if we do say so ourselves, and we do)!

Friends, this week we kick off our series on Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic Universe with one of the best movies to come out of it: Iron Man Three!
In this episode, we begin a new segment (which we will cleverly, and shamelessly, call "Quiz Show")! We will pit two hosts against one another in a battle of wits! Who will emerge the victor, and whom will emerge witless? Only time will tell!

Yes, loyal fans, it took us 36 episodes to get you a Kevin Smith movie, but damn if we don't have one of our all-time fan favorites! Wait, 36, is that including this one?
That's right, 37 episodes... IN A ROW! This week, we're exploring Clerks, 1994's indie fan favorite and the springboard that launched Kevin Smith's career. The fat man who loves Batman just wants to make movies for his friends, so sit back, kick up your feet, and let us do unspeakable things to your ear holes while we discuss Clerks!

Of all of the Martin Scorsese directed flicks, Casino is one of the all-time greats. The movie has some of the best mob actors of all time, and the script's flowing, F-bomb laden words have some of the snappiest delivery since Goodfellas.
We loved this movie, and not only because you see someone's eye pop out of his head. Robert De Niro, Sharon Stone, Joe Pesci, James Woods, and Don Rickles pull off some of the most memorable scenes in moden cinematic history.

We've released 35 episodes and now 4 of them are ALL ABOUT MARVEL!
The Avengers is one of the best all-time comic book movies ever released, both critically and commercially! We wrap up our Age of Ultron celebration this week with Joss Whedon's most high profile accomplishment yet.

We continue our string of Marvel movies with the last movie to be released before The Avengers: "Captain America: The First Avenger"
Chris Evans had enormous shoes to fill (at least, later in the movie) in bringing an aged, old-fashioned icon into the forefront of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Thanks to strong direction, a well crafted story, and some foresight, Captain America is arguably one of the most entertaining movies to come out of Phase 1!

Thor! I don't think ANYONE thought this film would be one of the better Phase One movies, but we all agree: Chris Hemsworth, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hiddleston, and Stellan Skarsgaard brought one of the most difficult-to-film comic characters to life. Oh, and Natalie Portman was alright too.
Join us for a breakdown of what it took to get this movie released in 2011!

Thus, we begin our Marvel movie release schedule!
Starting today, we kick off 4 weeks of Marvel episodes in order to celebrate the release of Marvel's Avengers: Age of Ultron coming up 5/1/2015!
Iron Man was released May 2, 2008 - exactly 7 years to the DAY of Avengers: Age of Ultron. Thanks to many failed rights exchanges, Iron Man kicks off the current hype train that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One.
Robert Downey Jr. is perhaps unanimously agreed upon as owning his role as Tony Stark. Jon Favreau brings us one of the finest examples of what a comic-book movie should be, and thanks to Gwyneth Paltrow, Jeff Bridges, and Terrence Howard (yes, even him), we have a fantastic supporting cast to fill the scenes.
Join us at the Walltower for some of the most fun we've had recording in a long time!

Half Baked is the ultimate stoner comedy! It was wildly unsuccessful but did serve as a stepping stone for Dave Chappelle's rise to fame. Regardless of your feelings on his comedy and personal issues, you can see a ton of influences that ultimately made their way into Chappelle's Show.
The cast and crew obviously enjoyed their time in the movie and it has a certain charm that we felt was special enough that it warranted the attention of our show. Plus, it's just plain funny!
Happy 4/20 everybody!

Maverick had all of the underpinnings of a series starter. Big names, quality set decorations, a respected director (Richard Donner) at the helm...
... unfortunately, more than one movie just wasn't in the cards. What we do have, though, is arguable a modern classic. It's Mel Gibson and Jodi Foster at their respective heights (Mel would go on to Braveheart, Jodie Foster to Nell). James Garner and James Coburn each ground the film with their solid performances, and a host of cameos pepper every scene for flavor.
This movie works on so many levels and we're breaking down all the great stuff behind the scenes to help explain why!
